Educational Philosophy

At WWGS our educational philosophy is not just a statement; it's a commitment to providing an exceptional learning experience that prepares pupils to thrive in a complex and ever-changing world. At WWGS we believe in fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that inspires curiosity, cultivates critical thinking, and empowers pupils to reach their full potential. Our approach to education is rooted in the following principles:

1. Individual-Centered Learning: We recognize that each child is unique, with individual strengths, interests, and learning styles. Our pedagogical approach prioritizes individual-centered learning, where pupils are active participants in their education, engaging in hands-on activities, real-life learning, collaborative projects, and personalized learning experiences tailored to unique needs and interests.

2. Holistic Development: We are committed to nurturing the whole child, fostering intellectual, social, spiritual, emotional, and physical growth. Our curriculum is designed to provide a balanced education that not only develops academic skills but also character development.

3. Play-based Learning: We leverage the power of play such as games, real-life objects, and aids to create engaging and effective learning experiences. Thus we make learning simple and enjoyable.

4. Extracurricular Activities: Apart from building the pupils intellectually, we offer a range of extracurricular activities and enrichment programs designed to foster holistic development. These include sports such as football, swimming, table tennis, basketball, and taekwondo, as well as arts, community service initiatives, and leadership opportunities.

5. Inquiry-Based Learning: At WWGS, we empower pupils to take an active role in their learning, encouraging them to ask questions, investigate, explore, analyze evidence, and construct their own understanding of concepts. Our curriculum is designed to foster a spirit of inquiry, exploration, and discovery, using case studies and problem-solving activities to develop critical thinking skills, creativity, and a lifelong passion for learning.

6. Differentiated Instruction: Recognizing that pupils have diverse learning needs and abilities, we employ differentiated instruction strategies to meet pupils where they are and challenge them to progress to their full potential. We utilize a variety of instructional methods, assessments, and learning resources to accommodate different learning styles and pace of learning.

7. Collaborative Learning: We value collaboration and teamwork as essential skills for success in the 21st century. Our curriculum emphasizes collaborative learning experiences, where pupils not only work individually but also in groups to discuss ideas, share perspectives, and learn from each other's diverse backgrounds and experiences.

8. Our dedicated team is committed to providing individualized attention, mentorship, and academic support to ensure that every pupil reaches their academic goals and aspirations.

9. Continuous Improvement: We are dedicated to continuous improvement and innovation in education. We regularly evaluate and refine our curriculum, pedagogical practices, and pupil support services based on research, best practices, and feedback from pupils, parents, and stakeholders.

Our History

Well-Watered Garden School is a private Preschool and Elementary School located in Abeokuta. Mrs. Patricia Enuoba-Beckley the proprietress of Well-Watered Garden School through the help of God, is an educationist with Grade II Certificate, National Certificate In Education, a B.Ed in English Language and a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education.
The name of the School was inspired from Isaiah 58:11b. To that end, our pupils are fondly called Well-Watered Children.
The School was established on Monday, March 11, 2013 and thereafter, its doors were flung open for Summer Classes as a test run on the 5th of August of the same year.
Effectively, the school commenced its first academic session in September, 2013 and to date, it has produced many children who are not only sound academically but morally. To the glory of God, our products have been our good ambassadors. Over the years, they have competed favourably with their peers in secondary schools where they have been enrolled for further studies.
